The image plays with proportion and perspective. Sunbathers become miniature, the shoreline stretches unrealistically, and the sky refuses to behave as background. What begins as a nostalgic seaside scene gradually shifts into something stranger and more ambiguous.

Rather than focusing on innocence alone, On the Beach examines how memory and imagination distort scale — how childhood, leisure and threat can coexist within the same image. The work invites prolonged looking, revealing its tension slowly rather than theatrically.
